From October 19 to 23, the Optica Laser Congress, one of the most important events on optics, solid-state lasers, and their applications, took place at the Congress Center in Prague. The Advanced Solid State Lasers (ASSL) conference was held concurrently. LasApp partners participated in the form of lectures, poster presentations, and organized excursions for visitors to the ÚFE optical fiber technology laboratories and the HiLASE Centre.
Several LasApp project partners took part in the Optica Laser Congress and the concurrent ASSL conference, which were held on October 19–23 at the Prague Congress Center.
The Optica Laser Congress offers a comprehensive overview of the latest advances in the development of solid-state lasers and their new applications. The congress included the Advanced Solid State Lasers Conference (ASSL), which highlighted new sources of coherent radiation, advanced technologies, components, and system designs for expanding the operation and applications of solid-state lasers.
The program featured presentations by scientists from the Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics research team at the Institute of Physics, who also discussed the results of the LasApp project. 7-Rod-Core Thulium-Doped Fiber for Enhanced Fiber Laser Cooling (Ivo Bartoň), Longitudinally Segmented Thulium-Doped Fiber for High-Power Fiber Lasers (Bára Švejkarová), and in the poster section, Martin Grábner presented his poster Longitudinally Segmented Thulium-Doped Fiber for High-Power Fiber Lasers. We prepared a special event for conference participants – a visit to the optical fiber technology laboratories at the ÚFE workplace in Lysolaje at the HiLASE center of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
