The 2nd meeting of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) of the project LasApp was held on Wednesday 22 October and Thursday 23 October 2025. This time it was conveniently collocated with the Optica Laser Congress, one of the most important, if not the best event singly oriented to laser technology. The ISAB meeting brought a reflection of what we have done so far in the almost two years and hints where to improve.
The Optica Laser Congress with its legendary conference ASSL (Advanced Solid State Lasers) came to Prague in 2025 thus making a unique opportunity to collocate this event with the meeting of the ISAB of the project LasApp. The conference ASSL started already on Sunday 19th October and the ISAB meeting itself started on Wednesday 21st October with a lab tour to the world-leading laser crystal manufacturer Crytur, lead by Dr. Jindřich Houžvička, member of the ISAB. The evening tour was a great experience with vivid discussions. The presentations and discussions about the progress of the project LasApp followed on Thursday 23 in the biotechnology center Biocev in Vestec south of Prague. We enjoyed also the lab tour there with enthusiastic guides.
